Overview
Brewd ("we", "us", "our") is a specialty coffee tracking and discovery app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. We do not sell your data.
Data We Collect
Account information: email address (for authentication), username (chosen by you), and profile image (optional).
Coffee logging data: bean details you enter (roaster, origin, process, roast level, tasting notes, varietal, purchase date, ratings, personal notes), brew log details you enter (method, dose, yield, grind setting, brew time, ratings, notes), and café check-in data (café name, location, date).
Photos: if you use the AI Bag Scan feature (Pro tier), photographs you take of coffee bags are sent to a third-party AI service for text extraction. Photos are processed for data extraction only and are not used for any other purpose.
Device and usage data: basic analytics data including app version, device type, general usage patterns, and crash reports.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the service: storing your bean logs, brew logs, café check-ins, and profile information
- To generate your taste profile: analysing your logged data to surface patterns in your preferences (Pro tier)
- AI Bag Scan: processing photos of coffee bags to extract bean details (Pro tier)
- To improve the app: understanding usage patterns and fixing issues
- To communicate with you: service-related emails only (account verification, critical updates)
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Photos submitted for AI Bag Scan are sent to OpenAI's API. Under OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. Photos are processed and not retained beyond the time required to complete the request.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on Amazon Web Services) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.
Your Rights
- Access: view all data associated with your account within the app
- Export: download your full bean and brew log history (Pro tier)
- Correct: edit any bean, brew, or profile information at any time
- Delete: request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent: stop using the app at any time
Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at contact@insightquestsolutions.com. All data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Deletion is irreversible.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained to improve the service.
Children's Privacy
Brewd is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Cookies and Tracking
Brewd is a mobile application and does not use browser cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
